Which
of your colleagues constantly astounds you? Who inspires
you by how he or she teaches, leads or advocates for patients?
Who consistently gives the kind of clinical care you would
want if you were the patient? Who serves as a great mentor,
charts new paths and improves the nursing profession?
NurseWeek
is offering you the opportunity to recognize these individuals
and celebrate their accomplishments.
We are
opening the nominations process for the 2001 NurseWeek
Nursing Excellence Awards. These awards, which began
several years ago in California, took place for the first
time in Texas last year. This year, we will host three awards
eventsone for registered nurses who receive
our California edition, one for those who receive our Mountain
West edition, and one for you who receive this South Central
edition.
The
Nursing Excellence Awards for the South Central region (Texas,
Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana) will take place Oct. 5
in Dallas. NurseWeek will bring all South Central
finalists to Dallas as our guests for a gala awards event,
during which the winners will be announced. The finalists
will be chosen from nominations submitted by you. Nominations
(with the identities of the nominees and their organizations
removed) will be reviewed by a panel of registered nurse
judges who will select the finalists in each category and
the winners.
Anyone
can submit a nomination simply by completing the nomination
form on the back page or online at www.nurseweek.com/excel.

know how time flies, so get started soon. You may nominate
as many people as you’d like, but you may nominate each

colleagues and who inspire us by their dedication, commitment,
perseverance and drive. We are looking for nurses who push
the boundaries and move our horizons to places previously
unknown. You know who they are. Help us honor their accomplishments
by nominating them for the 2001 NurseWeek Nursing
